Introduction:
Science is concerned with the phenomena of the physical world, experimentation, and unbiased observations. It provides systemic knowledge of the material world via experiments and observations. It is generally the study of nature, environment, and natural things. Biology, earth science, chemistry, and physics are different fields of science.
The main characteristics of science are accuracy, verifiability, ethical, objectivity, abstractness, precision, predictability, exploration, and reliability. Science deals with the accuracy that is the statement must be true or correct not an idea or estimate. The knowledge of science is based on verified data. It deals with verifiable evidence and does not have an answer to all things. The use of knowledge obtained from science is determined by society’s values. Science only deals with knowledge and is ethically neutral.
The objectivity is related with facts and facts are accepted as such not with a choice. Abstractness means ideas and science highly believe in ideas, not in a realistic picture. Science is not like literature, it is accurate in terms of measurement or number and its knowledge is precise. Science is also based upon predictions in case of complex topics. The exploration means there must be design or plan in research to collect information and analyze the facts. Reliability in science shows that scientific knowledge is reproducible and is not fixed.
