While going over the homework for this topic, I came up with a few things pertaining to the concept of unified the world. I feel that the world will never by politically unified. We do live in a world that doesn’t need uniformity to have peace throughout the world. Every corner of the world does have different diversities. I do feel that we need to have cheaper and cleaner energy costs for the entire world. When people do not understand another culture's practices, they feel threatened. Having a better understanding of globalization would help many people in the world. I feel that language and a person's national heritage would be necessary. Some cultures do have guilt/shame cultures, and this does help to explain why it would be so difficult to unify. This is where having your own moral compass is very important. Everyone does know that a person’s morals are like they are set in stone and then society does brand you with those morals. If you are shamed by others, then you are seen as being an outcast in society. I do feel that the world would not run smoothly because some places would want to enforce health and education requirements, criminal laws, and trade regulations, and others would not even care to help make the world a better place to live in. You would have to have a representative in a country so no matter what the advantages and disadvantages are in that country every party would have a vote. Looking at having a one-world government or society looks like tyranny. Smith states in 2022, “Politics is a pervasive and largely unavoidable source of chronic stress that exacted significant health costs for large numbers of American adults between 2017 and 2020. The 2020 election did little to alleviate those effects and quite likely exacerbated them.” Politics can harm a person’s health due to it being a stressor that permeates daily life by using social media and platforms, popular culture and this does make a 25-hour news cycle.
