This article writes several ways revanchist strategies that focused more on reclaiming San Francisco back to its glory involve policies and behaviors that are simply anti-homeless and do absolutely nothing to address the actual issue. Lending more compassion to those that clearly need it can not only make a difference on those affected but slowly make a dent of change in the overall problem. Using harsher forms of “solution” do nothing in the grand sheme of thing. Shutting the homeless and those suffering from drug addiction out does not make the problem go

This article is helpful to my project because it emphasizes the effects fentanyl has and how it has affected the streets of San Fransico. Fentanyl is not a new drug but we have seen a tremondous increase in fentanyl related deaths across the country. While heroin once was the drug of choice for many, fentanyl has taken its place and claimed the lives of thousands. This article details the efforts drug conselors have in trying to help victims of this drug.

This article details how efforts by an outreach program called Post Overdose Engagement
Team has made the effort to provide support to those suffering from homelessness and addiction. They have a group of people they help, but are forced to focus on only 200 people on the list that repeatedly overdose. Because there is so many people suffering from addiction, it is an overwhelming task for the team to be able to help everyone. They limit their efforts and do the best they can with what they have. I decided to use this article as proof of a program or support that is out there but needs to be scaled to a government help in order to increase their budget and therefore do more for the community.
