Truthful Representation Must post first. Critics of all three films in this module have expressed concern about how accurately actual historical events and personalities are depicted on screen. Is this concern legitimate? Why, and in what instances? You must start a thread before you can read and reply to other threads This concern is very legitimate in my opinion. I believe all films that are recreating instances in history that impacted the world significantly should be brought to the viewers in a very respectful and honest manner. There is no point of creating films that are biased or do not depict historical events in the truest manner as that would only create more divide between people. Our sole focus and goal as humans should be to unite each other and bring front our wrongs we have committed in the past. By creating films that do not justify our wrongs and tell a story in a biased way is not morale and just. For example in the Battle of Algiers it is evident that there was not a major emphasis on how the women played a significant role during those times. We know majority of humans tend to only look at one side of the story and are really swayed by what the media shows us. Therefore, it would not be fair to recreate historical events inaccurately.
