Topic: The true north and Summit Achievement wilderness program
This essay is about the true north and summit achievement which are both wilderness programs that
have the mission or purpose to help kids get over the rebellious face that they are going through and to
help get on track with their life and do good things that will help these kids do better in their future lives
and also where they decide to go with their lives after going to the wilderness program and where these
kids plan to go after turning their lives around for the better and what their future will be when the kids
are grown up.
My first topic is about the true north which is a wilderness program which is in Waitsfield Vermont and
was founded in 2005 by the three owners Ty Maves, Madhuri Barefoot, and Andy Chapman. The average
length of stay at true north is about ten to twelve weeks. The only people that can attend the true north
wilderness program are kids who are currently in school and are the right fit for the true north program
and group.
What the true north group is supposed to do his help young students who are in school and challenge
and support the students that go through the true north wilderness program so that these students can
go back to their school and daily life feeling more confident and feel like they can do anything they put
their minds and to try new things which will lead to these kids who went through true north to having a
very bright future ahead of them.
My second topic is about Summit Achievement which is a wilderness program which is in the white
mountain region of Maine and was founded in 1996 by five owners Chris Mays, Candince Kane, Adam
Tsapis, Will White, and Andy Richardson. The average length of stay at the Summit achievement
wilderness program is about two to six weeks that also has an academic week for young kids.
What the Summit Achievement is supposed to do is help young people aged thirteen to twenty and their
families go through the program which helps these young people and their families to a better life after
leaving the wilderness program. How they do this is by leading the young people and their families
through therapy, academics, and expeditions. The students also learn how to face the demands of the
environment around them and how to deal with those demands as they get older.
The mission of the true north wilderness group is to help young students who are currently in school and
challenge these students to do things they would not usually do if they were not at the true north
wilderness program so they can go back to school with new things that they learned at true north and
feeling more confident about finishing school and learning new things in school that they would not have
liked to learn before going to true north but being at true north helped these young students realize that
if you do not try new things you won’t learn new things that could help them later in their lives.
The mission of the Summit achievement is
