Books for Ages and Stages Preschool and Kindergarten: Ages 3, 4, and 5 Book: The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle Summary: Once, a hungry caterpillar existed, devouring everything it could find. Then, when the moment arrived as it was no longer starving, it observed that it had grown large and fat. It constructs a cocoon around itself before turning into an exquisite butterfly. Why did I select this book? Children aged three to five have an already developed extended attention span. They have demonstrated the ability to pay attention to lengthier narratives, albeit limited to brief paragraphs. This book was selected due to its pictorial content, as research indicates that children as young as three can already identify and describe images. They are extremely motivated to develop and learn. Early Primary: Ages 6 and 7 Book: My first Dog by A. P. Hernandez Summary : Once upon a time, a young lady named Sophie was extremely interested in owning a dog. Her peers and friends are all pet owners except for herself. With the passage of time, she finally got her parents to acquire a dog. It was her dog's moniker, Timber. Timber, however, has no desire to engage with Sophie. Sophie subsequently realized that she must first earn Timber's affection and trust. That is an enormous responsibility . Why did I select this book? This book was chosen because children between the ages of six and seven are already experiencing a desire to have a companion. They will learn that having a companion is a responsibility by reading this book. Middle Elementary: Ages 8 and 9 Book: Dragons in a Bag by Zetta Elliot Summary: Once upon a time, a young lad named Jaxon assisted his grandmother in transporting baby dragons to magically secure locations. While assisting her grandmother, he discovered that she was a sorceress in need of his assistance. Why did I select this book?: I selected this book due to its obvious aura of curiosity. Ages 8 to 9 are already filled with inquiries. They are interested in captivating narratives. This is the finest book for this age group.
