Benchmark: Plan of Action for Future Spiritual Growth Spiritual formation and spiritual growth are a beautiful journey that all Christians and believers must go through at some point in their lives. However, there is not an exact age and time for an individual to start this journey. Spiritual formation and spiritual growth which includes reflection, understanding, to study, prayers, and dedication to this process. This process takes time and it takes places in different stages which are characterized by improvement, changes, and development in each individual. Spiritual formation and spiritual growth mean that an individual must prepare himself or herself for transformation and be willing to open his or her heart, and mind for God to be their guidance. The purpose of this paper is to share questions designed to help a believer to reflect and evaluate his or her spiritual formation and growth. Also, to provide a plan of action for spiritual growth. Understanding of your spiritual disciplines is part of the process of spiritual formation and spiritual growth. How can you improve your connection and relationship with God on a deeper lever? Part of your spiritual formation is to explore and reflect about your relationship with God. The relationship that you have with God can affect you in your life in different levels. To build a deeper relationship with God there are different steps to take in consideration such as to seek guidance in the scripture, and through the Bible (Carson, 2019). The Bible shows to all of us that it is important to make positive changes. Be mindful of your time and make time for God in your every day life. It is important to look for resources in your community such a church to seek guidance through this process. It is important to read the Bible, and take the time to understand through reasoning the word of God (Carson, 2019). The scriptures and prayers are necessary to reflect and necessary to communicate with God and improve your relationship. To

show love to others helps you for a deeper relationship because you are able to preached and share the gospel with others. How much understanding do you have about God’s word? The knowledge and understanding about God’s word would help you to determine the different stages of your spiritual formation, and the progress of your journey. God’s word shares with all of us his different lessons and teaching. Furthermore, you can find the process and how you can live a Christian life and with a meaningful purpose. What is your purpose in God’s mission? Understanding and awareness of your purpose in God’s mission is part of your spiritual formation because it means that you understand the part that God plays in your life (Carson, 2019). Part of God’s mission is to understand that God is the creator if everything, and all of God’s creation have a purpose. Furthermore, God created human beings with a meaningful purpose that would help him with his mission in which all of us must play our part. In your spiritual growth process what are your strengths and weaknesses? Your spiritual formation and growth require you to reflect about your thoughts, actions and more. Also, you must take the time to evaluate about yourself, and to take the time to become aware of your strengths in your spiritual formation. Moreover, the weaknesses because that way you would be able to acknowledge them and work on them through the spiritual formation process. When making decisions do you seek God’s guidance first? As a Christian through the process of your spiritual formation and spiritual growth. It is important to understand that God plays a crucial part in it. Therefore, it is important to integrate God in your life and your spiritual formation without God’s guidance spiritual formation would not be possible (Carson, 2019). Faith and seeking God’s guidance would help you to understand and become aware of the importance of

nurturing and taking care of your spirit and soul. Understanding of the importance of taking care of your spirit and soul is part of the process of spiritual formation and growth. Do your actions demonstrate your desire to build God’s kingdom rather than your own? Those who seek to build God’s kingdom and nurture their soul must be willing to make the necessary changes to transform their lives. This means that an individual is preparing himself or herself to build God’s kingdom (Carson, 2019). This can be demonstrated by reading the Bible, prayers and to seek God’s guidance. Actions that can demonstrate your desire to build God’s kingdom includes service, helping others, compassion, understanding and patience. The way that you can relate and treat others shows your desire to build God’s kingdom. God’s love is unconditional which demonstrated the importance of be able to forgive, repent and keep moving forward through all those difficult times by believing in God’s word no matter what. Before you are able to start and create an action plan for your spiritual growth and spiritual formation. You have to become aware and understand that there are no right and wrong answers on how to start this process. It is a reality that starting the process of your spiritual growth its an individual choice, and nobody can force anyone to it. Spiritual growth has to be chosen by you and from there you can start learning about everything that it involves. The best course of action that an individual must take before any spiritual growth is to take the time to do research about the process (Carson, 2019). Also, to create a spiritual growth plan which would be their guide through the process. Furthermore, this plan would help the individual to evaluate their progress in the process in the future.
