If so, what has risen to replace painting? If not, how has painting been able to survive? As always, please refer to specific works of art in your post. 61 words é Permalink Re: Discussion Forum Unit 8 by Taha Derar Elshattoury Derar - Sunday, 29 October 2023, 3:51 AM Emphatically no, I don’t think that painting has died but rather | believe people, style, and trends have changed. Artists have discovered new ways of expressing their opinion and presenting their creativity to the world. It might appear that people don't fancy painting on canvas and traditional painting of the ancient time has been replaced by digital art and animation art. The proportion of people that are interested in painting has dropped significantly due to advances in technology. Other genres of art like music, literature, drama, filmmaking, and dance have greatly evolved. “The need for improvement is the driving force to my creativity, the constant dissatisfaction in my work pushes me to do things better.” (Parblo art tool, 2010, para.6). Different art galleries have made painting and other forms of artwork more attractive by displaying virtual paintings on online boutiques where art lovers can different paintings from modern or classical artists. In my opinion, paintings are still relevant in our lives today and can be seen almost everywhere from public buildings to private homes around the world. The generation of artists has greatly deviated from classical painting to a more modern form of art like performance art, digital painting 2-4D, media hybrid, and manual vector painting which they believe is faster, easier, cheaper, and more convenient. Despite all these new development, painting has survived and stood the taste of time. Let's face it all these discoveries cannot replace the rough edges and smooth textures of oil on canvas that no modern art can replace. (Khan Academy, n.d). Other forms of art have emerged recently, including new media art that refers to all forms of contemporary art transmitted through media technology. This includes digital art, interactive art, internet art, and virtual art, as well as works of art, made using robotics, video games, biotechnology, 3D printing, computer, and animation. Also, | would like to mention the work of Jason deCaires Taylor British sculptor, environmentalist, and professional underwater photographer that has created a series of underwater parks and museums to promote arts and create awareness of protecting our oceans and environmental preservation. Taylor won several awards because of his artistic creativity and love for preservation. Molinere Bay Underwater Sculpture Park created by Taylor was the first underwater park in the world and it's listed as one of National Geographic’s 25 Wonders of the World.
