The Mona Lisa
The "Mona Lisa," an oil painting by Leonardo
da Vinci that is around 2 feet 6 inches by 1 foot
9
inches, is one of my selected artifacts. Based on
a work of Renaissance art, Leonardo started
working on the artwork in 1503 and kept it until
his death in 1519. He appears to have spent
numerous decades working on the artwork,
carefully putting many tiny oil paint
brushstrokes.
After the medieval era, there was a thriving
period known as the Renaissance, which saw
notable
advances in politics, art, and society. In
European civilization, it signaled a "new beginning
characterized by a revived devotion to understanding, a heightened awareness of the exquisite
splendor of nature, and the growing quest for authenticity in art.
Starry Night
The well-known picture "Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh is the second item I have selected.
Van Gogh used vibrant oil paints to create this masterpiece in June 1889. It is around 2 feet 5
inches by 3 feet 0.25 inches in size. WhenWhile he was living in Saint-Rémy, France, Van Gogh
sought out psychiatric counseling during the time of painting. The painting captures the spirit of
the landscape while he was residing at the institution at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, showing the
view from his east-facing window shortly before daybreak. Throughout his life, Vincent Van
Gogh, a painter renowned for his expressive expression, deft color application, and elegant
technique, battled mental illness. He struggled financially and was largely unknown.
Remarkably, during his life, he only ever sold one picture, "Red Vineyard at Arles." Van Gogh's
paintings are currently on display in esteemed galleries including the Museum of Modern Art in
the city of New York.
Common theme:
Being regarded as some of the greatest artists of their time periods, both artists enjoy
extraordinary notoriety. Van Gogh's work "Starry Night" depicts his feelings as he looks out of
the window of his institution, but "Mona Lisa" was intended to express a well-calculated
sensation of happiness. We may start to understand these pieces of art and the feelings that
inspired them by examining and evaluating them. A common topic connecting the two paintings
is the investigation of human emotion and how it is expressed via artwork. Since the feelings we
experience constantly evolve and regulating them is an everyday obligation, I think that our
feelings are not limited to one job or movement.
Personal Experience:
Throughout my adolescent years, I struggled with emotional regulation. Yet composing lyrics
and performing gave me solace. Through the power of artistic expression, I was able to convey
what I was feeling from my thoughts into writing thanks to this creative outlet. Through
thorough examination of artistic endeavors, including poems, songs, and works of art, viewers
may recognize and understand the message that was intended more effectively. I came to realize
that music was a liberating instrument that enabled me to process my own problems and express
these issues to those whom I cared about. It gave me the opportunity to let go of feelings that had
been developing deep within me for many years and were impossible to understand.
