Peschong 1 Morgan Peschong Justin Davis HUM1023C00 May 4, 2023 Globalization has had a profound impact on cultures and art around the world. The unprecedented expansion of markets and the explosion of technology and information has made it easier than ever. People can access and share cultural products, ideas, and art forms from around the world. This has led to a cross-pollination of cultural influences and has allowed for a greater variety of artistic expression. At the same time, the growing interconnectedness of global markets has had an economic impact on art and culture. The commercialization of art has led to more commodification of culture, and in many cases, this has caused a homogenization of culture as certain art forms have become more widely accepted and adopted (20th Century Globalization, n.d.). This has led to a greater emphasis on the production and consumption of art that is produced for a global market. Finally, the rapid technological advances of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries have led to a revolution in the way art is made, shared, and experienced. Digital technology has made it easier for artists to produce, distribute, and market their work. While also giving artists access to new and innovative ways to express themselves. At the same time, digital platforms have allowed for unprecedented levels of collaboration and communication between artists. The explosion of technology and information has also had a profound effect on art and culture. Through the internet, artists and audiences can connect with one another across geographic, temporal, and cultural boundaries. This has enabled the emergence of new forms of creative expression, as well as the sharing and circulation of ideas, knowledge, and culture on a global scale (Lewallen, n.d.). Finally, globalization has also changed
Peschong 2 the way that art is produced and consumed. For example, the emergence of online markets has allowed artists to monetize their work and make it more accessible to a wider audience. At the same time, the availability of digital content has made it easier for audiences to access and experience art from around the world.
