Niche Development
As I set out to complete this assignment of creating a personal career plan for now and in the future, I reflected on my motivations, goals and things I’ve learned while taking this course. As a licensed counselor for the past 4 years, my experiences, both positive and negative, have helped me to grow immensely and through the trials and tribulations
allowed me to be able to define for myself what I believe is the right path for me as a professional as well as myself personally. My reason for entering this Life Coaching program was driven exclusively by my desire to be able to provide a more holistic approach than I am currently able to in my Counseling career. I have always believed that counseling and coaching are complimentary, and it is truly my passion and my plan to be able to integrate coaching and counseling in a uniquely holistic practice
niche for coaching and why you decided on that niche, including what skills and
attributes you bring to the field.
The niche for coaching that I have decided on is wellness coaching as it most aligns with my personal and professional aspirations of being able to improve the overall quality of life by considering and addressing individual wholeness through engaging in a
community-oriented mindset and living a purpose driven life. I really see Wellness Immediate Goals and T8imelines Life Coaching is a profession that offers diverse opportunities and economic prospects that are expected to increase with the shift towards a consumer driven approach to wellbeing and development demand for more streamlined access. As the landscape of personal health and wellbeing services demand and delivery is ever changing, Coaches
have had to come up with innovative ways to adjust the service delivery model to meet 2
the changing needs of individuals. Consumers are looking for services and providers that recognize and honor their desire for autonomy and provide options that allow freedom to make their own personal care decisions. This trend towards a more collaborative service model aligns perfectly with the services provided by Life Coaches, particularly those who specialize Health and Wellness niche and utilize a responsive, holistic approach that truly empowers individuals as partners rather than patients. As the field of Life Coaching receives more validation and is recognized as a viable option by the healthcare industry and insurance companies, Coaching will become more accessible and will help to “…lay the foundation to move toward potential future implementation of Category II (supplementary practices) and I (contemporary practices) codes for reimbursement.” that will drastically change the profession as a whole. (Perlman, A. I., & Abu Dabrh, A. M., 2020).
Marketing
Explain how you will plan to market yourself for a specific niche as a life coach.
Consider your method of marketing, other coaches in the same niche, your strengths
and challenges.
Although there was no way to predict a highly contagious disease would impact the way
we conduct social business, there are ways to be better prepared and develop
contingency plans to put in place when and if the need should arise. The successful
Coaching practice requires preparation, planning and procedures that define the
necessary adjustments to needed to ensure access, including responsive service
delivery via telehealth, increased social media outreach, incentivized word of mouth
