Critical Thinking Reflection
Critical thinking is skills that we use everyday. Sally who works for a company who sells
printers. Sally works in customer service and with that comes with dealing with the complaints of customers when something is wrong with their printers. Sally one day had a customer who didn’t agree with the warranty policy of her store. Sally also didn’t agree so she used her critical thinking skills to find out a way to get the policy redone. Elements of Critical Thinking
The barriers of critical thinking that were apparent were experience, interpretation and analysis. Experience was presented with Sally had a customer who did not agree with her company’s warranty policy. Interpretation was presented with Sally putting herself in the customer’s position and her wanting to find a way to help who customer whose Printer was needed for his business. Analysis was presented by Sally looking into additional options her company had to help her customer. I do believe that Sally posses the characteristics of a good critical thinker because she used the barriers to her advantage and was able to get the company warranty policy of her company changed. Reason, Emotion, and Communication
The concept of reason is presented with problem solving because Sally had to use problem solving to help her customer find a way to make sure the printer he bought was working
for his business. Sally showed empathy and understanding towards her customers situation. Sally
put herself in customer’s position and helped him make sure his printer was working as it should be. Sally used passive communication while at dinner with her colleagues because she wanted to avoid an argument.
