Shawn Brower Dr. Howard AST1002 9 December 2022 Reflection Assignment 1. Reflect on your learning Describe what you have learned during the class and how it will assist you in achieving future academic and work-related goals. - I have learned very much new information about Astronomy during this course: how things operate in our galaxy and each planet and its unique characteristics. For example, I now know more about Mars. Why are people so fascinated about this planet and determining whether it can be habitable for humans, why the surface of Mars looks red, and how there is frozen water on hearth? I was not very interested in science before this class. As a result, I struggled in my science class in high school last year. I am still currently a dual–enrolled student, so as I was taking this course, I noticed that in my science class in high school, my grade in that class has been improving a lot this year. 2. Reflect on your assignments Which was your favorite? What did you learn about your future job while researching some areas? What other things would you have liked to have known about? - The Unit 2 assignment on whether or not Mars or Venus could be habitable for human life was my favorite. I found it very interesting that we could live on Mars, and the discussion was also enjoyable. Even though I am hoping to major in Political Science when I graduate, and I know that technically it is a type of “science,” I would say that this course provided an excellent understanding of Astronomy as a whole, and I would happily retake this class!
