I chose to look at the levels of organization of a pothos plant, otherwise known by its scientific name Epipremmum aureum. 1.) Molecules- The pothos molecules can be seen through a compound/light microscope, which is a microscope that can look through the specimen. 2.) Cells- They can also be seen using a compound/light microscope, which can not only look through the pothos, but can use its 2 lenses to magnify it as well. 3.) Tissues- They can be seen using a dissecting microscope, which uses light reflected from the leaf. This microscope essentially give a 3D view of the leaf rather than an inside view like the
compound microscope. 4.) Organs- The leaves, nodes, petiole, petiolar sheath, stems, and roots are essentially the organs of a pothos and you can view them with your naked eye.
5.)Organ system- All of the organs mentioned above in number 4 make up a organ system, which essentially is the pothos plant as a whole. The plant can be seen easily with a naked eye. All in all the molecules, cells, and tissues of the pothos all need some form of microscope, whereas the organs and organ system are easily seen using the naked eye.
