Using your knowledge of DNA, genes, and their functions or malfunctions answer the following questions. Why do you think in-home DNA testing kits, like family tree ancestry, genetic testing, DNA, etc. are so popular? Should it be? What would be some advantages or disadvantages to knowing this information about yourself or relatives? For all graded Discussion Questions: Opinions, facts, evidence are all allowed. Please feel free to agree or disagree with any post, but you must explain why you have that opinion or why you are sharing that evidence. Ask ONE (1) clarifying question about a topic you find difficult or want to learn more about. As always, please CONVERSE (Have a conversation via posts.) Let them know your thoughts on their idea and how it could be modified. I believe that DNA testing kits are so popular because people want to know the unknown about their history and roots. I see it similar to pet owners who rescue their dogs and have their DNA tested to see what breeds are a part of their new furry family member. Some advantages of this is learning more about your ethnic roots, possible health risks under that category, traits passed down, new relatives, and push for a healthier lifestyle. Disadvantages would be things such as accreditation, cause more confusion, reliability, etc. A concept I was having difficulty grasping this week was the fluid connective tissue. I understand it consists of the blood and lymph but am struggling with how the interstitial fluid works hand and hand to regulate the body temperature and the overall process.
