The name of my virtual field trip is the virtual egg farm field trip. This field trip will be about egg
farms, and we will learn how they conserve and protect the natural resources they rely on to
produce eggs. The URL of the field trip is (
https://www.incredibleegg.org/professionals/k-12-
schools/eggs-in-the-classroom/virtual-egg-farm-field-trips?site=a
). This field trip is sponsored by
the American Egg Board which has partnered with Discovery Education to bring modern egg
farms into today’s classrooms through Virtual Egg Farm Field Trips. They have videos for k-5 and
6-8. I picked the video for k-5 because I thought it can be education to have head start kids learn
about egg and where they come from and how they end up in their homes.
For the lesson I would do with this virtual field trip is g
ather the children in a group and have
available a carton of eggs. Explain that they were laid by chickens, that baby chickens come
from eggs, but the eggs need to be fertilized first, and these eggs are not fertilized, so will never
be baby chickens. I would have the children touch, hold, and observe the eggs, and describe the
shells, shape, and smell. Crack open an egg and discuss the parts of the egg the membrane,
yolk, albumin (white) and the white string attached to the yolk. Then have them each crack an
egg into individual bowls and explore and discuss their own egg. The pros for this lesson are
children learning about where they come from and being appreciative of where they come
from. I do not think there could be a negative aspect. I would defiantly do another virtual field
trip.

An Egg Production Company recently found that eating eggs does not increase a person’s blood serum cholesterol. Five hundred subjects participated in a study that lasted for 2 years. The participants were randomly assigned to either no-egg group or a moderate-egg group. The blood serum cholesterol levels were checked at the beginning and end of the study. Overall, the groups’ levels were significantly different. The company reminds that eating egg is healthy if done in moderation. Many of the previous studies relating eggs and high blood serum cholesterol jumped to improper conclusion.
Using this information, answer the following questions:
What prompted the study?
What is the population under study?
Was a sample collected?
What was the hypothesis?
Were data collected?
Were any statistical tests run?
What was the conclusion?

“Mom, they want me to play for the National Women’s Hockey League!” Josie yelled as she ran into the living room. She had just finished practice, and the scouts had told her afterward how impressed they were with her moves. Finally, her lifelong dream of winning an Olympic gold medal for Canada might actually come true! She’d had to make some sacrifices, like living at home after high school, but it looked like that would all pay off. As soon as she saw the looks on the faces of her parents, her smile disappeared.
“Honey, we just got back from the doctor. It turns out that your brother’s recurrent bouts of pyelonephritis have led to irreversible renal damage. The nephrologist is recommending that Xavier have a kidney transplant,” her mom explained with a pained look. “We know that he has a better chance if he has a related donor, but he could always go on hemodialysis and wait for a cadaver donor …”
Josie saw her dreams of a hockey…

Carmen worked as an education coordinator for a nation-wide health care consulting organization. She had a horribly busy schedule, started work before 8:00 a.m. every day, and rarely finished working until at least 7:00 p.m. every evening. Her husband, Alan, worked at a local factory, and it was difficult for him to get time away as well. Their son was five years old and starting kindergarten the next month.
One of the requirements for kindergarten was documentation of immunization records. Carmen, who provided education on PHIPA-related issues and assisted facilities with form design as part of her job, called Dr. Stallone, her son’s paediatrician’s office. Carmen asked Jessica, who answered the phone at Dr. Stallone’s office, if she would be able to fax a release of information form to the paediatrician’s office and have the office fax the information to her because she was unable to get there during office hours. Jessica responded by saying, “I’m sorry, honey, but medical records…

I need help with the following questions and there are multiple parts and I dont understand!
Scientists have recently inserted a gene to create a mouse with an increased capacity for learning and memory- basically increasing the mouse’s IQ. Normal, average human IQ is around 100, above that is
considered highly intelligent while an IQ below 70 is considered to indicate mental disability. In the future, if this treatment could be applied to humans, it could increase IQ by 30 points.
A couple has a son with Down’s syndrome giving him an IQ of 70. They want to use the therapy to increase his IQ to 100 in order for him to function normally. This is considered to be gene therapy, where technology is used to help a person function better.
A second couple has a son with an IQ of 120. They want to use the technology to bring his IQ up to 150. They feel he would have a better chance of getting into a prestigious university. This is called gene enhancement where technology is…

Mr. and Mrs. Singh immigrated to Canada 25 years ago. While Mr. Singh, 88, has a comfortable working knowledge of English, Mrs. Singh, 82, has always been able to get by with her standard answer, “No English,” and her husband taking over for her. Having lived and worked in a community of people from their home country, they have always depended on the support of their family and community. The children have all moved out and work all over the country. Now, with the ever-increasing list of health issues for both of them, living on their own sometimes becomes extremely stressful. You have been assigned to help with their home care.
How can you best look after this couple and support them in their home without them feeling insecure, isolated, and lonely?
What two added fears could they be having? How will you assist the couple?
What five possible health conditions could they both be suffering from at this age?
