nvironmental Impacts on Evolution: Tutorial
niue sapIE MIISWCI
Speciation is the method by which unique species evolve from a common ancestor. In this case, two of these species that
split from a common ancestor interbred and created a hybrid. This hybrid was apparently stronger and possibly better
adapted to the environment, which led to extinction of a species formed by the initial speciation event.
Part C
If the findings described in part B are correct, do the finches that are described fit the category of reproductive isolation.

Mountain Top Primary School is situated in a beautiful environment in the mountains. The school consists of eight classes, one for each grade. Although the buildings are fairly old, the school is well equipped, and the teachers have all the resources they need. Much of the teaching and learning is done outdoors with a focus on the local natural resources. The learners are encouraged to be active in their community and help each other. Social and spiritual values are emphasised.
The principal is supportive of everything that the teachers plan. Planning means that each teacher decides on relevant content and adapts the CAPS document according to what learners are interested in. Planning is seen as a dynamic process and…

Mr. Steve is 25 years old, caucasian, and physically fit. He wanted to travel alone before pursuing his career since he just graduated from college. His first destination is the Banaue Rice Terraces. He arrived in Ifugao with much hospitality from the locals. He was invited to attend a traditional Cordilleran wedding. Since he like foreign and exotic dishes, he tried the local soup dish pinikpikan with etag. Later on he was offered a "local" delicacy to pair with the rice wine tapuy. He was enjoying the taste of the "local" delicacy and was asking for the recipe but the locals just laughed and told him that it is a secret. The next day, he went on his hiking to the rice terraces and was amazed by the view. The local guide asked him if he would like to visit Tappiya Falls before going back to his accommodation which he gladly agreed on. Since it is his first time going to the place, he already drank all of his water. The local guide pointed a clear shallow portion of a stream to fill…

Who, Moi? Exploring the Fit Between Celebrity
Spokescharacters and Luxury Brands
Kim Sheehan
University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, USA
ABSTRACT
Brands use spokescharacters like Hello Kitty and Miss Piggy to successfully
market products like candy, cereal, and fast food to both adults and chil-
dren. Recently, advertisers and brands began using spokescharacters to
promote luxury products like jewelry, handbags, and makeup to adult
women, perhaps to tap into women's nostalgic feelings about these char
acters from childhood. This study examines whether traditional Match Up
perspectives apply to celebrity spokescharacters for luxury brands, and
whether women's proneness to nostalgia affected brand perceptions.
Women assessed two popular spokescharacters (Miss Piggy and…
