Part Two: Hofstede Model of National Culture For each of the six cultural dimensions in Hofstede s model of national culture, list the score for both countries and then draw conclusions based on the differences in scores between the two countries. To find the scores, use this tool: Hofstede Insights: Compare Countries . When you select both countries, the tool will give you the scores. The area with the biggest point difference is indulgence with a difference of 44 points. This mean that where American or susceptible to impulse Chinese people will maintain a pessimistic stance until they are sure beyond a doubt that they are making the correct choice. Draw conclusions on the significance of the large differences in scores. Another big gap in scores was the gap of individualism. A conclusion that I draw from this is that when doing business in China an American must abandon their need to work alone and instead be able to show that they can put the well-being of the group first. List conclusions on the differences in doing business between your two countries based on cultural dimension scores.
