® Study.com Business 310 - Assighment 3: Interview a Manager About an Ethical Decision If you have a Study.com College Saver membership and are seeking college credit for this course, you must submit an essay and pass the proctored final exam. You must submit your essay before registering for the final. Below you will find prompts and instructions for submitting your essay. About this Assignment It is easy to read about a situation in a textbook and play "Monday Morning Quarterback" to critique a manager's approach to a business dilemma. It is much more difficult to be an ethical manager when a situation unfolds on-the-fly. Good managers will review their actions later and actively consider if a different approach might have resulted in a better outcome. In this assignment, you will summarize an actual real-world ethical decision that a manager had to make during their career. You will also analyze the decision, assess the response, and suggest an alternative course of action. Prompt The student will interview a local business manager, in person. During the interview, the student will uncover an ethical decision situation the manager has faced during their career, and how the manager resolved it along with the manager's rationale for the actions that were taken. In a document of 1500 words, the student will: 1. Summarize the manager's ethical dilemma and how the manager handled/resolved it 2. |[dentify the ethical standard that the manager used to solve the dilemma 3. Identify an alternative ethical standard that the manager could have used, and how the outcome would have differed Related Lessons If you'd like to review Study.com course material fOPA @34 IERHRNY N &34 efer to the folloding lessons: Read more * How Companies Ethically Balance Owner, Stockholder & Stakeholder Interests * Ethical Theories in Business: Applications & Differences * Why Be Moral? - Sociological, Psychological & Theological Reasoning
