Teacher Dispositions Self-Assessment
ITL 600: Course Title
March 9, 2024
Professor Belle Booker-Zorigian
After analyzing this self-assessment, I got a clear understanding of where my strengths lie
as a future teacher, but also areas where I could use some improvement. First off professionalism
is one of my strong suits. Clear and effective communication, whether it is drafting emails, speaking up in meetings, or being punctual and dressing appropriately for a job. Maintaining confidentiality and treating everyone - principals, colleagues, students, parents - with respect. That is how my mind operates. I also make it a point to regularly self-reflect, stay open to constructive criticism, and own up to my mistakes. These are the kinds of qualities that help create positive, productive classroom environments where real learning can happen.
Now, one area I could admittedly use some work on is task and time management. I will be the first to admit, I can be a bit of a procrastinator at times. According to the survey results, I am inconsistent when it comes to completing things promptly, and I know that can throw a serious wrench into being an effective educator. If I am scrambling at the last minute, how can I expect my students to stay focused and organize themselves? As a teacher, you need to practice what you preach to your students. I am making it a priority to get better at managing my time and prioritizing tasks. Setting reminders, breaking big projects into bite-sized chunks with hard deadlines. I have also been reaching out to mentors and professors for accountability and feedback on where I am dropping the ball. Because demonstrating reliability is not just about checking boxes. It is about building trust with those students, their parents, and my colleagues. It is about maximizing every second of those precious learning opportunities I have with my students. This is really what the initial self-assessment is all about for me - getting an honest look at my natural strengths and weaknesses so I can put in the work now to become the best educator possible. By setting clear goals to improve my time management while continuing to embody qualities like

Utilizing Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace By Kendra Cherry
Emotional intelligence, sometimes referred to as EQ ("emotional quotient"), refers to a person's ability to
recognize, understand, manage, and reason with emotions. It is a critical ability when it comes to
interpersonal communication-and a hot topic not only in psychology, but in the business world.
The term was coined by psychologists in the 1990s. Its use quickly spread into other areas including
business, education, and popular culture.
What Is Emotional Intelligence?
Psychologists Peter Salovey and John D. Mayer, two of the leading researchers on the topic, define
emotional intelligence as the ability to recognize and understand emotions in oneself and others. This
ability also involves using this emotional understanding to make decisions, solve problems, and
communicate with others. According to Salovey and Mayer, there are four different…

How to reply to this in 100 words?
For this week's discussion, we have been asked to review and discuss the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). This is an extension of the Jungian personality theory, which identifies personality traits that help identify performance measures that make it easier to promote and use employees in a way that will ensure their success (McShane & Von Glinow, 2022). However, there are particular areas in business where this can be used, as it is not a bulletproof evaluation tool, and, per the text, it could be a better tool for performance evaluation and pre-employment. (Coe, 1992). So, how does this apply to the question of the week, and how can we use it in daily business to increase the success of the employee and the business overall?
The MBTI tool could promote middle managers to the executive level. Executive-level managers are good leaders with strong communication skills and personality traits that set them apart from the pack (Men, 2015). We…

New Management Challenges for the New Age
Today’s news is littered with scandals, new allegations of sexual assault, and tragedy. Since 2017 and the #metoo Movement, stemming from the Harvey Weinstein scandal, more and more public figures have been put into the spotlight to defend themselves against allegations from women around the globe.
Not only publically, but privately in companies around the world, there have been firings, and investigations into misconduct from co-workers, managers, and CEOs. It is a relevant topic that is getting long overdue publicity and encouraging more men and women to come forward to discuss openly rather than hide the events and injustices of the past. Other events showcase the tumultuous and on-edge society we are living in, such as the Charlottesville, VA attack, that left 1 dead and 19 injured when a person drove a car through a crowd of protestors during a white nationalist gathering.
With events on a daily business, it is important for…
