1 8-1 Consulting Report: Insights from RealRecruit Kayla Johnson Southern New Hampshire University, MBA Program MBA-500: Building Business Leaders Instructor: Dr. Ronal Lentz
2 RealRecruit is a company that was founded by a former collegiate athlete by the name of David Chadwick. It is “an online platform for universities to evaluate the student-athlete experience, make decisions and protect their brand ( RealRecruit - Crunchbase Company Profile & Funding ).” The purpose of this consulting report is for me to identify one ethical consideration adopted by RealRecruit that our company ABC Beauty can also adopt. I will use the information that I have found so that our company can learn from the ethical issues that were faced by RealRecruit. Ethical standards in a business are incorporating what is right or wrong in a business. These standards are mostly based on integrity and trust. “In order to manage the ethical issues in business that arise in your organization, you first need to develop thorough understanding of what those issues can look like (Barr, 2022).” In the case study from RealRecruit the company was originally a way for potential student athletes to have a forum to decide if a university was the right choice for them. However, there were other results that students shared which were, reports of sexual assaults, hazing, drugs, sexual abuse, bullying, and misconduct by coaches, teammates, and other students. Once this was brought to the attention of RealRecruit they shifted their vision and allowed the university to see what was occurring on their campus. I feel that our company should consider a program like this because it will help us as a company to understand how to detect and deter issues before they become a problem. With this system we will be able to determine a high turnover rate, employee satisfaction and dissatisfaction and provide employees with a safe working environment. It also gives a more platform that allows employees to express how they feel in a way that lets them remain anonymous. Obtaining this kind of information from anyone can become a potential risk and it is in our job to ensure that no risk will overlap with the ethical issues. We first have to make sure that
3 have an idea of the ethical issues that may occur. This means that we must put a plan in place in case any of these issues may arise. As a company we can make sure that we are aware of different laws and regulations, make sure we are providing clear written policies. Ensuring that employees are aware of this by providing trainings, providing handbooks with this information, and keeping them informed on rules.
