MBA-620 Measuring Success in an Organization August 20, 2023
Module 7 Performance Improvement Strategy 2
TransGobal has done a superb job in competing in the airline industry. I am creating a
performance improvement strategy to ensure the organization continues improving and building around the strategic plan. This executive summary will provide recommendations for sustainability, reveal different key performance indicators (KPIs) along with corresponding target measures, and two performance improvement strategies. Strategic Goal This organization's sustainability plan must be followed using the triple bottom-line framework that was identified by Elkington (
Alhaddi, 2015
). This framework measures a company's success with a focus on the environment, social, and economic agenda (similar to the PESTEL framework). Within TransGlobal's 10-year strategic plan, they want to focus on safety, excitement, and stewardship. The concept that will be addressed is the environment (safety/people). This means they want to ensure that safety is a priority along with ensuring that customer service is top-tier. They spent months collecting data to determine what or how
they were going to develop their goals. TransGlobal desire is to re-introduce MAX 737 aircraft. Although, the aircraft have been subject to safety concerns. Previously, the 737 Max was grounded by many different airlines. However, since December 2020, over 185 countries
have approved the return of the 737 Max to be operated globally, following some safety concerns that were fixed (Segal, 2022). They also want to ensure that these plans are more cost-effective and fuel-efficient, as they will help with controlling the carbon footprint. Another effort in safety comes with ensuring that the employees are trained on FAA regulations, which include safety protocol, inspections, and procedures. Another area of concern for the strategic goal is customer service.
Module 7 Performance Improvement Strategy 3
Customer service is an additional focus that was placed as a strategic plan. The principal states how they want to build trusting partnerships with customers. Their plan on how they are going to develop these partnerships is by creating forward-thinking innovations so customers can enjoy their traveling experiences. To complete this task technology will be upgraded to give customers the ability to complete multiple reservations for different activities through an app. Key Performance Indicator
The key indicator that we are going to focus on is safety. This performance will be measured by the number of maintenance inspections the plane undergoes after every flight. We will also be able to determine this move more towards the alternative fuel route. As one of
the main goals is to lessen our carbon footprint. This can be measured by slowly integrating the new fuel and trying to achieve a 3% to 5% reduction a year over the next few years. By the time 2075 approaches could have exceeded our desire to have zero carbon footprint which helps the safety of the global environment. Recommendation
The organization is adamant about bringing the MAX 737 back into the fleet. If this is going to be done a more enhanced safety inspection and checklist must be completed, periodically. The aircraft has shown in the past that there were issues with different crashes and many airlines decided to ground them. Increasing the safety inspections and maintenance can help identify potential problems with the aircraft, which can prevent any mishaps. In conclusion, the organization identified strategic goals that they wanted to address. The goals were focused on safety and customer service. To ensure that both of these areas increase in function, they must be measured closely with KPIs. These different KPIs can help

The Study of Strategic Management
According to Bamford, Hoffman, Hunger, and Wheelen (2018), strategic management is a set of
managerial decisions and actions that help determine the long-term performance of an organization. It
includes internal and external environment, short term and long-term strategy formulation, strategy
implementation, evaluation, and control. Originally called business policy, strategic management has
advanced substantially with the concentrated efforts of researchers and practitioners. Today, we
recognize both a science and an art to the application of strategic management techniques (Bamford,
Hoffman, Hunger, & Wheelen, 2018, p. 37).
Now is the perfect time to practice strategic thinking, how can companies emerge from the global health
crisis brought by Covid-19. The future is unpredictable, as such, strategic thinking may be more important
