1. Compare and contrast the different kinds of compact discs.
Originally invited by James Russell, the digital compact disc comes in a variety of
types and styles, yet is always designed with the same main fuctions of storing digital information (Epstein, 2022). One of the more well known and recognized coimpact discs is a CD ROM. Abbreviaed for “compact disc read only memory”, these discs contain prerecorded music and once burned cannont be erased or changede, simply played. There
is a smaller version of this called the Mini-CD. The Mini-CD is only about 3 inches and is often used fro single songs or busineess adveertisements. By contrast, a CD-R is a recordable compact disc where data or music can be recorded once onto it, most often used to store digital data like a floppy disk would have (Epstein, 2022). There is also a CD+R. This R also stands for rcordable, but a CD+R is not compatible with a CD-R as the +R format has nearly twice the stroage amount as a CD-R (Epstein, 2022).
Finally there is a CD-RW which is a compact disc that can be recorded on and rewritten through being erased and reused (Epstein, 2022). In terms of use, there are also video CDs, photo CDs and DVDs. Despitee the differeeence technnological forms they each take on, all are versions of compact discs that store digital data to replay it. 2. What file formats does the iPod support?
This is such an interesting quesetionn, espeically since iPods are no longer made or used! Taking a look back in history, theere are multiple versions of iPods over a length
of time. In order to respond to thie particular question, I lookede into a more recent version, the iPod Touch. The iPod Touch was advanced and supportd numrous audio file formats including: AAC-LC, Appl Lossloss, Audible 2/3/4/Enhanced Audio/AAX/AAX+, AC-3, E-AC-3, FLAC, HE-AAC,/v2, and MP3.
