8-1 Consulting Report: Insights From RealRecruit My observations regarding RealRecruit are that it is a technology platform that aims to help universities and athletics departments “ manage their culture, and head off emergent issues before they become major - potentially catastrophic – issues ” Case 13 RealRecruit Line 15. When it relates to starting a business, there are several legal and ethical factors to consider and go over. In a lot of cases, both the legal and ethical sides of corporate operations can coincide. Examining the RealRecruit case study, immediately after its establishment, some ethical concerns were raised. Even though the platform's objective and purpose were well-intentioned at the beginning and designed with ethical motives in sight, the end result ended in the corporation suffering legal ramifications. The platform was made to encourage and allow college athletes to evaluate the schools and the athletic program they will be participating in. In terms of advice, it could be advantageous for RealRecruit to explore the idea of extending its platform to cover other sectors of undergraduate life than athleticism. This could make it possible to get a complete picture of a university's culture and atmosphere generally speaking. RealRecruit could consider collaborating with university representatives to create tactics for reacting to the information and data gathered on their platform. This might entail devising methods for follow-up and assistance for impacted students as well as teaching university staff members how to appropriately manage and resolve documented events. 2 | P a g e
8-1 Consulting Report: Insights From RealRecruit One ethical consideration adopted by RealRecruit that my organization could adopt as a best practice is the use of anonymous reporting . Anonymous reporting can be a helpful tool for inspiring workers to disclose sensitive or possibly damaging information. It can create a secure and confidential atmosphere where people can disclose occurrences without fear of retaliation or adverse consequences. This is especially crucial in instances when victims are hesitant to report occurrences because they are afraid of retaliation or blowback. Organizations may foster a culture of openness and enhance the well-being and safety of all members by offering a private and anonymous reporting tool. By creating a private hotline or online form for workers to use to report any ethical issues or infractions, our company could adopt anonymous reporting as a professional standard. This may involve matters of harassment, discrimination, financial fraud, or anything considered as wrongdoing. We could foster a trusting environment and transparency and make sure that our business is run in an ethical and responsible manner by giving workers a secure and anonymous way to voice their concerns. Legal and Ethical Overlap It's crucial to keep in mind that anonymous reporting does not eliminate a company from its legal responsibility when it comes to preventing and resolving workplace harassment and discrimination. An organization must take the necessary steps to investigate and remedy the problem in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations if it receives a claim of harassment or discrimination through its anonymous reporting system. This should entail performing an internal inquiry, offering assistance and services to those who were impacted, and 3 | P a g e

8-1 Consulting Report: Insights From RealRecruit applying punitive actions as appropriate. Because of this, anonymous reporting should be done in a way that is compatible with the organization’s legal duties to prevent and resolve workplace harassment and discrimination, even if it may be a useful tool for fostering openness and trust within a company. Just because something is ethical does not automatically make it legal, and vice versa. Establishing stringent rules and employing ethics training would help ensure that our team members comprehend morality and the law. This will teach the team members how the two overlap and how each of them must be treated separately. 4 | P a g e
