Name: Kyle Alexander Planning: Aligned Feedback Strategies Directions: Refer back to your responses in the Planning: Aligned Learning Tasks assignment from Module 2. Use the same information you included in the chart for that assignment to complete the first four sections of the chart below. Then, design and record aligned feedback strategies that will support student engagement and mastery of the learning target. Use pages 90-91 of Who’s Engaged? as a reference (Kindle Location: 1686-1698) . Grade Level: Feedback Strategies Plan Learning Standard: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RST.6-8.3 Follow precisely a multistep procedure when carrying out experiments, taking measurements, or performing technical tasks. Overall 30 Day Learning Goal(s): Follow a multistep procedure for experiments. Follow a multistep procedure for taking different measurements. Follow a multistep procedure for performing technical tasks. Week One Learning Target (choose one): Describe and list the seven steps of the scientific method. Apply these steps to an in-class experiment. Week One Learning Tasks (choose one): As a class we will take notes and review the scientific method. After notes students will be put into groups to create posters detailing and describing the scientific method that will hang in the classroom. Students will use the scientific method to complete an in- class experiment on the best medium to clean pennies. After determining the best medium (water, dish soap, or vinegar) from their experiment students will write a short lab report explaining how they used the scientific method to arrive at their result. Feedback Strategy:
Before students leave the class after the day of notes reviewing the scientific method, they will be given a exit ticket relating to the material from class to gauge their understanding. After reviewing the tickets, I will determine if reteaching is necessary or if the class is ready to go on the lab.
