Please provide short answers for the following questions ( 15 points ) a) Sketch a rotary evaporator, label its key parts, and explain how it removes organic solvents ( 6 points ) b) Amines and carboxylic acids are very polar and can be difficult to separate from each other using column chromatography. What other separation technique might you use to separate them from each other that would be more efficient? ( 3 points ) c) During labs in which we fractionally distill a volatile product, why might it be a bad idea to use a rotary evaporator to remove organic solvent from a mixture containing the intended product?
