Directions: Use the “Response” section to address the prompts below. (Be thorough in your responses. A nicely written paragraph with at least 3 to 7 sentences per prompt is expected. Be sure to use complete, descriptive sentences that fully explain what you are trying to convey. The more description you provide, the easier it will be for your instructor to understand what your project is going to be and why it is important.)
1. Project Description: What is the actual project or product that you will be creating / producing? Now,
describe this project in detail.
Response: The project will be a classroom management plan. This plan will include rules that teachers use to
hold students accountable for their behavior within the classroom. Classroom management is the essential to a
safe and respectful learning environment. Most of the time teachers overwhelm themselves trying to control a
class because there are no set rules in place and no consistency with making students follow the rules. With this
plan, new or veteran teachers can use this to help them focus more on student learning than correcting
behaviors. 2. Rationale: State why you chose this project topic. How does this project fit into the broad area of education? How does it relate and/or benefit to your current work position or the job you are seeking?
Response: I chose this topic to help put in place an effective structure, expectations, and consequences. Classroom behaviors tend to be the biggest thing that most teachers struggle with. This relates to my current position because classroom management is essential to a positive learning environment. Well-managed classrooms lead to fewer behavior issues, more student engagement, and higher academic success. This also benefits my students because they are aware of the consequences of their actions. Before they get in trouble, they can review the rules and redirect themselves. Page 1 of 2

3. Statement of Purpose: State what you plan to accomplish with your project.
Response: I plan to create a word document file with separate pages and headers for distinct sections. The parts of the classroom management plan will include:
Expectations of students
Consequences
o
Minor offenses
o
Major offenses
Classroom management techniques
Disciplinary interventions
Expectation of parents
Expectation of teacher
Class procedures and routines
In case of an emergency
Classroom setup
Encouraging all students
4.
Research-Based: State what sorts of journal and/or article information you will use to complete this project
(i.e., what will you look for? What connection does your project topic have to current issues? What current issues need to be addressed with your topic? What issues do you perceive you will research?).
Response: I will look for articles that discuss the effectiveness of classroom management plans. I will use journals from Liberty University library, ERIC, Jstor, and Google Scholar. I will use recent and peer reviewed articles to be sure the information is current and up to date for use in today’s classrooms. I will use educational texts to target how classroom management plans help decrease bad behaviors in classrooms. Current issues that need to be addressed with my topic is proper techniques and how it is used at different levels of teaching. 5. Projected Application: Explain how you plan to use your project once it is completed? Be specific on the audience(s) who will use it…
Response: I plan to use my classroom management plan in my classroom myself but also provide a template for
first year teachers as well to help them with classroom management. A lot of the time teachers don’t realize that
most of their issues occur in their classes because of the lack of management. Often, teachers review the rules on the first week of school and after that, they do not refer back to them. This classroom management plan will give teachers something to use consistently throughout the year for themselves and students. 6. Description of the projected outcomes: State what you think will happen as a result of completing this project. Keep it specific so that you can document whether or not it occurs.
Response: A result of having a classroom management plan will be to decrease the number of in school and out of school suspensions. With less behaviors creating in the classroom, students will be present in class more than
not, due to behaviors. Another result is to also help increase positive relationships among the teachers and students within the classroom. Everyone will have a mutual respect for one another. The final result that will come from this plan is students being held accountable for their actions.
