Developing Your Creative Attitudes
Part C: Reporting the Findings
Complete the following table for each of the 2 Attitude Development exercises you completed. Submit your completed file to SLATE under: Assessments > Assignments > Creativity Field Assignment
EXERCISE 1
What is the first attitude you decided to work on and why?
The first attitude I decided to work on is on improving my awareness because I often find myself stressed and occasionally distracted too. I believe that being more present
in the moment can help me be more focused and creative.
Which field exercise did you choose to do for this attitude and why?
I chose doing exercise 4: “In the moment” because being fully present in the moment can enhance my concentration and focus. This will eventually lead myself to develop the ability to pay attention to the current tasks or activities in a more effective way.
Describe the situation and what you did (ensure that you specifically describe it and that it is consistent with the requirements as per the exercise)
I practiced Exercise 4 by setting aside at least one minute each day to consciously focus on my sensory experiences, paying attention to sounds, sights, and scents.
What did you experience and learn from this exercise that was important to you?
From this exercise, I experienced a greater sense of calm and relaxation. I noticed that my ability to concentrate improved, and I became more aware of my surroundings. I also learned that being present in the moment allowed me to detach
from my worries temporarily.
How has what you learned helped you to become more creative?
What I learned from this exercise has helped me become more creative by providing
a mental space where new ideas can emerge. It has also made me more attentive to
the details and aspects of my environment, which can be a valuable asset in creative
pursuits.
How could you apply what you have learned to future situations to be more creative?
I could apply what I've learned to future situations by practicing mindfulness practices into my daily routine. Being more aware of my senses and surroundings can help me stay focused, reduce stress, and enhance my creativity in various areas of life, from work to studies.
EXERCISE 2
What is the first attitude you decided to work on and why?
The second attitude I chosen to work upon is increasing my passion in which I had an assessment score of A. The reason behind it, I believe that passion is a powerful driving aspect of creativity. If I'm passionate about something, I'm more likely to invest time and effort into it, which often leads to more innovative and satisfying outcomes. Passion in me boosts my enthusiasm and dedication, which ultimately leads to enhanced creativity.
Which field exercise did you choose to do for this attitude and why?
I chose Exercise 3: "What do you love?" because it encourages me to search on my passions and interests, which can serve as powerful sources of my creative inspiration.
Describe the situation and what you did (ensure that you specifically describe it and that it is consistent with the requirements as per the exercise)
I dedicated time each day for 4 continuous days to observe and express what I genuinely love. This exercise required me to let my thoughts flow naturally without judgment while writing them down and speaking aloud to myself. It was a deliberate practice to identify and acknowledge things, experiences, and concepts that evoke a sense of love and enthusiasm among me.
What did you experience and learn from this exercise that was important to you?
Expressing what I love deepened my sense of passion and enthusiasm. This passion played an important role in enhancing my creativity. It led to a bunch of creative ideas and inspirations being generated in my mind, as the things I loved became potential sources of creative projects and endeavors. This exercise also motivated me to take action related to my passion, making me more willing to explore new interests and take creative risks.
How has what you learned helped you to become more creative?
Expressing what I love ignited my passion and enthusiasm, leading to plenty of creative ideas and inspirations. It motivated me to pursue creative projects related to my passions and made me more willing to explore new interests, ultimately enhancing my overall creativity.
How could you apply what you have learned to future situations to be more creative?
I'll continue to revisit my passions for inspiration, use them in creative projects, and maintain a positive mindset to enhance my creativity, even in challenging situations. This exercise has shown me that regularly acknowledging and nurturing what I love can straightly impact my creative abilities and overall well-being.
