Reflection Name: Jaelyn Simmons Date: Chapter 2 The Creative Teacher Questions and Answers Instructions: After reading this chapter, reflect on the following questions. Question 1: Why is it important for a teacher of young children to be creative? The teacher of young children is one of the most critical people to have the lives of these kids. Creativity is one of the bases of human nature so teaching or encouraging creativity makes for better adults and experiences. Question 2: What are some of the characteristics of a creative teacher ? Some characteristics of a creative teacher is one that asks the right questions, teaches in a type of language, ton, and movements of those they are teaching, fusing ideas together to concluded they want while accepting the creative ideas the children making while helping them understand how you got there. Teachers who observe reflect and support their students. Question 3: What is a value of collaboration for children and teachers? The collaboration creates a growth-based learning. This type of learning teaches them that working together can expand their own thinking. This also teaches communication as well as good social skills. Question 4: Describe a classroom environment that nurtures creativity. In a classroom environment that nurtures creativity includes thinking like having books that match the student’s interest, a themed room or section that relate to the subject, creating assignments that will result in the same idea but looks different foe each student, or even creating activities stations that create a learning expression while also being fun enough to keep their attention span.
