How can the concepts learned in this course help you be successful in your personal life
and professional life? Be specific.
There are a whole myriad of ways that this class can help someone in their
environments. The biggest takeaway for me revolved around communication and how
different leaders do it in the systems that they operate. My number one goal is to take
what we have learned and tweak my communication plans with my family and the
different roles that I am a part of in life. Communication is the most important aspect in
any relationship and understanding how to communicate effectively in any organization
or group is a major rung to climb and conquer. This class has helped me understand
that people receive communication differently and depending on preconceived notions
such as their feelings toward you, may react in adverse ways. Its all related in the end
and people need to have respect and FEEL RESPECTED from you to allow efficient
communication between you. Your leadership style and recognition of the structure that
you are apart of also plays a major role. Does the structure of your org allow free
flowing communication or does it require a chain of command? Can you allow people to
do their own things and work on projects at their own pace or is the job naturally
deadline oriented and high stress? These are all factors that you must take into account
and this course has helped me realize that.

Hey Timothy understanding ones barrier to decision making and accomplishing goals is
so important in today's society especially because not a lot of people seem to fully
understand nor have training in that area. if you're effective at dealing with situations or
dealing with groups of people then you really can write your own check.
Hey Reno I think those are the same items that stood out to me because they're just so
applicable to our everyday life. I think that communication can always be improved upon
and I find that not only at my workplace but also in my daily life with my wife and kid. I
think you really got a lot out of this class and I'm glad to see it in your writing.
