Safe place, caring, warm, psotive. I welcome my students

open up with a greet and a quote for them to talk about.
In my classroom I create a positive environment by
focusing on SEL competencies on a daily basis. We

PD’s available are my district are done online. PD’s include
topics revolving around: Culture, Teamwork, Teacher
Burnout, CGI Math. Etc.
All of these PD’s are available throughout the year
for us teachers to use to our advantage to learn and
implement in our classrooms.
Classroom
Expectations & Norms
Respectful toward teachers and subs, using nice
words with friends and peers, no shouting out, no
tattling, no getting out of seat unless given
permission, signing out to use the bathroom (no
bathroom during class hours unless emergency).
These expectations set boundaries and rules for our
students to follow. They are held accountable for
their actions. Ultimately, I make these rules for
students to learn and be scholarly students.

The numbers that stick out are the SED students. It’s
more than half at 60%. In order to ensure these
students, succeed, we as teachers must offer equal
opportunity learning, SEL activities, and offer any
additional resources we can to help these student be
successful.
Almost 11% of the students are EL students. Its best we
use this information to assist these students if they are
in our classroom. Its also best practice to create a
healthy school environment to ensure these students
feel welcomed, accepted, and able to learn.

The suspension rate is very low. ELA and Math standard
scores seem good but could be lower. Teachers must
offer support and extra resources to help these
students in this area. Reading intervention and Math
tutoring can help these students.
