Recently, my unit has been very
busy and staffing has been
challenging. It has became very
stressful and it is taking a toll on
everyone. I have started using

help me calm down before I
return to the floor to tackle the

Self care
Self care is something that I have
started practicing in the last two
years. Once a month I will go and
get a massage or a pedicure. This
gives me time away from work
and home and a chance to really
clear my mind and focus on just
me. This also helps me with
managing my stress.

Active listening
In this class I learned that I was
getting busy and not truly

learned to slow down and pay
attention. When someone starts
talking to me. I will stop what I
am doing and look at them. I will
give slow nods while they are
talking to let them know that I
am paying attention to what they
are saying.
