PC’s R Us IT Department Training Manual Case Scenario You are working for PCs R Us, a company that provides computer technician support to various companies and home users. In your role as the lead technician for PCs R Us, you are charged with creating a training manual that future computer technicians could reference when providing customer support to their users. This training manual will encompass many different aspects of hardware devices for desktop and laptop PCs, printers. Also, how to troubleshoot issues with these devices. Upgrade Options For the first part of this section of the training manual, in 1-2 pages, explain which laptop components you can upgrade. This could vary from laptop to laptop but in general what laptop components can be upgraded? Explain your reasoning. Upon conception laptops were not up to par with desktops as far as computing power. They were only meant to be portable computing systems. However, now-a-days laptops have the same computing power if not more of any desktop in production today. The amount of “field replaceable parts” in a laptop vary between brand and model but still does not match up to that of the “field replaceable parts” of a desktop. The field replaceable parts in a laptop consist of the battery, the keyboard, the LCD screen, memory, storage, and in some cases the optical drive. The access to most of these components can be found on the bottom of the laptop. In some models the battery is a separate compartment and should always be removed first. There is a second, much larger, compartment on the bottom of the laptop that will house the memory, storage, optical drive, and keyboard. For the second part of this section of the training manual, in 1-2 pages you will address the following scenario: The customer that you assisted in upgrading their PC components was so impressed with your abilities that they decided to acquire your services to upgrade their laptop components. The customer has a $500 budget. The customer currently has a 14 inch i3 Dell Latitude E7470 with 128 GB SSD and 4 GB memory. They say that the laptop is slow and they are running out of storage. They also want to be able to view the laptop on a larger monitor.
