What you need prior to starting the lab Internet connection Wireshark Purpose of the lab In this lab, you will draw the topology of your home network and find out the IP addresses of the connected devices. Getting to know the topology is one of the important steps in troubleshooting a network. Activity 1. Draw the logical network topology of your home network. You can draw a network topology online from www.draw.io website. Hint: Start from the gateway provided to you by an Internet provider.

How many numbers of devices are connected to the default gateway (including desktop computers, laptop computers, cell phones, tablets, Internet of Things devices, printers, scanners, cameras, etc.) ANS: Seven devices are connected. 3. Out of total, identify how many devices are using wired and wireless connections. In case of a wire connection, identify the type of cable used. ANS: Seven devices are using wireless connections and none of the devices are connected using wire. 4. What kind of topology do you think devices are connected to? Star topology, ring topology, etc. ANS:- Star topology 5. In the topology, write down all the IPv4 addresses and IPv6 addresses (if available) next to the devices. ANS:-Laptop : 192.168.2.47 Phone: 192.168.2.89
