IDS 402: Wellness
October 3, 2023
Reflection: Society
General Education Lenses
Looking at anything through different lenses helps us to see beyond our own experiences. It
helps us to become aware of how these experiences affect what we see, hear, think, and believe. By
utilizing a different lens during my research regarding post-traumatic stress disorder, my experiences of what I read, think, and believe may have been different. The social science lens taught me that PTSD tends to affect groups of people differently. Research shows that PTSD is also
more prevalent in specific genders and occupations. Had I chosen to explore the natural and applied sciences lens, I would have been able to explore the science behind PTSD and may have been able to determine if there are genetic factors behind a PTSD diagnosis with their outcomes.
Interactions
By analyzing wellness, we can create a deeper sense of understanding and empathy for other people. We can also gain a deeper appreciation of their different cultural and religious views and the role those play in their lives. Gaining a deeper awareness of wellness can help us to become
more compassionate and supportive in conversations with others. This will also help improve our understanding of their feelings. We should always be aware of the tone of our voice, body language, and facial expressions during these conversations. Analyzing wellness will also help us to be more aware of their tone, body language, and facial expressions. Being aware may help us to evaluate the well-being of others, create better relationships, and have stronger connections with these individuals. If we are not paying attention to these cues, we could potentially make things worse for them. By paying attention to these cues and offering help can mean the world to someone
struggling.

During the Foundation days, we have engaged in prayer and worship services that reflect the congregation's devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. These services often include the celebration of Mass.
The CICM has a strong tradition of education and research, and during the Foundation Days, there may be events or exhibits showcasing the congregation's contributions to scientific knowledge, and we, as students, have participated in those activities. We also attended specialized science programs, labs, and equipment that provided students with a solid foundation in scientific knowledge and skills.
The Foundation Days often involve celebrations of the CICM's missionary work. We also attended those presentations to enhance our knowledge about the motto. We also participated in activities promoting social responsibility and civic engagement with the school authorities.
