Photoshop Lab: Selections and Composite Image
I have to say, this Photoshop lab was by far the hardest lesson thus far in this course! On top of misunderstanding the assignment prompt at first, and not having multiple different items photographed, just the same setup photographed in different ways, it was hard to edit them. I found it most difficult to select the item that I wished to copy and add to photos. It was really hard to select a single flower or pedal without selecting it in a distorted manner. Then matching the lighting to the photograph with the flower or pedal I edited into the photo. In both images, I selected the parmesan cheese mason jar and removed it from the photographs. This was a difficult task because it would distort the reflection of it in the vase. But I finally was able to overcome this obstacle and decided to add flower bulbs as if they had fallen to the bottom of both photographs. In one of the photographs, I added an extra leave to it too. I truly wanted to add more shells to the picture, but the lighting and shadow of the shells within the photograph made this impossible. It never looked right when I attempted them into the photo. Once I placed the bulbs and leaves where I wanted them, I messed with the balance of the contrast and was able
to get them to closely resemble to background photograph. Although you can kind of see the additions, I think with a little bit of practice, I could do much better with this form of photoshopping in the future! All in all, it was a great learning experience. I cannot wait to use it in the future with other photos that I take.

Studying Sensation & Perception has significantly influenced my understanding of photography, particularly in relation to visual attention and depth perception. As an amateur photographer, I've found that applying concepts from the course has enhanced my ability to compose compelling images and understand how viewers perceive them.
One key concept from Sensation & Perception that has directly impacted my photography is the idea of selective attention. Selective attention refers to our ability to focus on specific aspects of our environment while filtering out irrelevant information. In photography, this translates to the photographer's ability to direct the viewer's attention to the subject of the photograph. Understanding how selective attention operates allows me to compose images in a way that guides the viewer's gaze towards the focal point of the scene. For example, I may use leading lines, contrast, or framing techniques to draw attention to the main subject while…

Formatting your Excel spreadsheets to make them look professional is important when making data useful to the general public. You learned in this unit how to create a professionally formatted worksheet by applying a cell style, merging and centering data, changing cell alignments, and using borders, fonts, and colors to make data stand out so that it is easier to find and analyze. You also learned how to apply number formats and increase or decrease decimal places. After reading the article, Childress, A. (2018, January 3).
