Lab #3 Electromyography I Robert Zell | Muhammad Zia | 9/2023 Lab Materials: -Biopac Unit (hardware) -Biopac leads -Electrodes -Computer (software) Procedure: Log onto your computer with the BIOPAC software installed. Connect the BIOPAC unit to the computer and plug the electrical leads into the unit and secure them. Sit the subject down and stick two electrodes to their wrist, one inner, one outer. Connect one final electrode to their upper forearm. Connect the positive lead to the upper forearm, and the negative and ground leads to the wrist. Do this for both arms Run the calibration on the software by having the subject relax for two seconds, squeeze as tightly as possible for two seconds, then relax for the remainder of the set time. Once complete, move on to testing. For the first test, have the subject clench their hand and release repeatedly, at a slow, steady pace, for four squeezes. Each squeeze should be stronger than the last. Repeat this for both arms. Once the data has been collected, highlight each peak and note down the mean of each peak in the corresponding column on the data sheet. To get the tonus, highlight the flat section between each peak, record in lab data once more. Results:
