IXL is not only a math platform, but also a Language Arts Platform that allows for a child to work independently at home or at school to help build reading comprehension skills, writing skills, and communication skills to improve future success in the classroom and personal growth. Teachers can utilize this to incorporate reading instruction by allowing students to work on the platform for simple comprehension checks or guided reading groups. ReadWorks allows students to work independently by reading different passages, lessons with vocabulary as well and a variety of comprehension questions following the passage that has been read. Teachers can incorporate this into literacy instruction by the students having independent reading times
that allow for personal growth and comfort in their reading abilities, as well as checking comprehension skills upon completion. DQ 2 I believe that technology plays an important role in both reading and writing by allowing students to find
a variety of information through news outlets, ample reliable resources, or libraries. They are able to find different interactive learning advantages that will help improve their reading and writing skills. I believe that one example of technology that supports reading and writing would be the commenting and suggestion mode. This allows for an editor to leave feedback for the original author, allowing them to suggest different edits or needed changes within the paper.
