Diversity in the United States education is especially important. One of the greatest assess of immigrants in the United States is the global perspective so critical in the 21

century. Global independence is a thing of the past; global interdependence is omnipresent. It is a reality, though, that despite its positive effects, immigration also signals an increase in numbers of students from diverse backgrounds, that is, students who speak multiple languages and represent different cultural ways of life. Diversity is the practice of involving people or including them from a different range of genders,
social/ethnic backgrounds, and sexual orientations. Diversity is what makes each person unique. Diversity
is about including our beliefs, backgrounds, personal values, personality, and life experiences. All of that is a part of making a person who they are. When bringing different people together that come from different backgrounds it shapes our approach, our perspectives, and how we view the world around us. Diversity is so significant in our education here in the United States. When you enter almost any school in America you will see diversity all over. Having diversity in school can be very beneficial. Students can learn and relate to one another as well as educators. It helps students to develop an understanding of different cultures and appreciate them. It helps students to get exposed from really young ages to different cultural groups which helps shape them. It helps shape them because it is preparing them for the real world and will help them to grow up to be great citizens within their 3
