Write a response that fully addresses the prompt. The FBISD Instructional Coach Mission Statement is: Fort Bend ISD Instructional Coaches exist to advance the achievement of all students by building teacher capacity to deliver highly effective Tier I instruction. Describe your coaching philosophy, the role(s) of a campus based instructional coach, and how you would measure your impact as an instructional coach. PART 2 Instructions: Read the coaching scenario below carefully. Write a response that fully addresses the scenario. To accomplish the goal of building teacher capacity, an instructional coach uses coaching, professional development, and professional learning communities (PLCs) to work with teachers in planning and implementing the FBISD curriculum. Select one of the TEKS/ Standards (from the table on the following page) that aligns to the position you are applying for and determine how you would coach the teacher(s) in the following scenario. Coaching Scenario: A grade level team has identified a need for support in teaching the standard you will select below. The team has varying years of experience and content knowledge and struggles with designing lessons that support students’ understanding of the content. Describe how you would support the team with designing the learning experience, planning the sequence of instruction, and addressing the misconceptions of the standard you select below. 1
