Synthesis Presentation: Curriculum Development By: Juan P Martinez EDUC 871
Content and Performance The content standards are grade-level stages that each student should be able to comprehend within a given period. Students are then tested in a summative-based exam at the end of the school year to test their abilities and understanding. Performance Standard examines the student’s ability to effectively achieve grade-level material based on what was taught. Teachers need to be effective in delivering classroom instruction to close the gaps, and students need to be effective in learning and performing in content.
Development of Curriculum Process Balanced Curriculum Sequencing of Content Students Prior Knowledge Assessment Methods Length of Performance Quality versus Quantity (Parkay, Anctil, & Hass, 2014, p. 301)

Conclusion Curriculums must continue to change and never remain the same; as time goes by and technology evolves, the strategies and skills taught to students need to grow. To not adapt to new changes is a disservice to students; they deserve quality instruction, equitable education, and opportunity for all students Continue to improve professional development and training for all educational staff so they can deliver the best instruction.
