1.
What is the main hypothesis being tested in your article?
The main hypothesis being tested in this article is: Creativity has a positive correlation with project-based
learning.
2.
Identify a potential confound in the experimental methods of your paper. Why might it be a
confound? In other words, why do you think the variable you identified would have an influence
on the observed results? How could you control for this confound?
A potential confound that I identified is the study sample was only pulled from the college of
engineering at a Taiwanese university. You could control for this confound by allowing for the
participants to be from the entire university, and not just the college of engineering
.
3.
Do you think the results obtained support the general conclusion(s) made by the author(s)? Why
or why not?
Yes, the results obtained support the general conclusion that project-based learning yields for high
creativity levels in the classroom because within the experiment, the group that implemented project-
based learning showed higher levels of product creativity compared to the group that used a lecture-
based learning strategy.
4.
What is a potential alternative explanation for the observed results of your article?
The experimental group (group that used project-based learning) had a higher product creativity (21.33)
than the control group (group that did not use project-based learning) who had a 16.12. This shows that
the group who used project-based learning was more creative than those who attended lecture and did
not learn though projects.
5.
What are the implications of the findings of your article? In other words, why should anyone
care about these results?
The implication of this article is that when seeking for high creativity levels within the classroom,
instructors should implement project-based learning. A professor/teacher who might read this article
may start using project-based learning in their classroom to ensure their students are being creative.
6.
Given the general conclusion of the author(s), what is an outstanding question that is not
addressed in your article?
Is there a difference in the level of creativity shown in project-based learning between males and
females in the college of engineering?
