Running head: Meeting the Needs of Diverse Students in English Language Arts Meeting the Needs of Diverse Students in English Language Arts Building relevancy of content and skills through application and value We must first look at what is in the material to see how it connects to today's environment, because there were low exam results and some students who thought the content was repetitious and unneeded in the case study provided. They will be more likely to engage with the subject if we can discover ways to connect the knowledge to their interests, hobbies, and other activities. The lesson should inspire students to pay attention to what is on the schedule for the day and to maintain links between what they have learned in the past and what they will study in the future. They will be able to better correlate the facts and hold their attention if we can integrate a personal connection with the information, we want them to obtain. We may use information about our students to open doors to engagement that is related to their existing strengths as well as skills that need to be cultivated as they advance through their courses when we learn more about them. A student who can immerse themselves in knowledge becomes more engaged with it and begins to question and study it deeper. Assessment Data with Data The usage of assessment data can help both teachers and students. When we provide data to our students, they can take control of what they're learning and what changes they might need to make to realize their full potential. As one technique to make it advantageous to everyone, include it in the students' goal setting. In terms of where they think they belong among their peers; each student has a distinct level of self-esteem. Each student's goals will vary, but the most essential thing is to set goals that are neither too difficult nor too easy for them to achieve.
Running head: Meeting the Needs of Diverse Students in English Language Arts We may also consider what academically motivates each student, as this has an impact on their learning and should not be disregarded. People who are sad can use a variety of techniques to boost their self-esteem and confidence. One method to emphasize is the use of a tracking and reflection form, which allows students to see what they excel in and where they may grow. This not only gives students more academic knowledge, but it also allows them to perform self- diagnostics to see what they think will help them in their work. If a system is in place to assist students in their advancement, they can excel in their studies. Creativity in the Classroom Students respond to classroom creativity by becoming more interested and engaged, but they will also discover deeper meanings in the material they are taught. Students need opportunities to spread their wings and fly to get their creativity flowing in the classroom. This type of creativity may be seen in everything from students' passion projects at the end of a lesson to how the classroom is set up to inspire and foster creativity. If people walk into a classroom with a lot of innovation in the decor, they are attracted to what they are entering. This does not imply that bright colors must be utilized throughout the classroom, but it does suggest that the creative process should begin in a designated area. Another pleasing visual feature is anything that ties to a board of achievement. This is not a place to record grades, but rather to draw attention to odd classroom settings. It would instill a sense of individualism in the students and encourage them to offer something new to the discussion board. Giving students open-ended projects to work on will encourage them to engage with the material and get a better knowledge of what they are learning. Students are thrilled to show off their work to their classmates and teacher when it comes time to exhibit what they have learnt. To stimulate student participation, this might be done in conjunction with individual or group
