Political geography is a subfield of human geography that focuses on the study of the political organization of the world. It examines how political boundaries, governments, and political processes interact with geographical space. The key difference between a nation and a state is that a nation is a cultural or ethnic group with shared identity, while a state is a political entity with defined borders, government, and sovereignty. In other words, a nation is primarily a cultural or social concept, while a state is a political and territorial one. Not all nations have their own states, and not all states are comprised of a single nation. Multiple nations can coexist within a single state.A multinational state is a political entity or country that consists of multiple distinct nations or ethnic groups within its borders. In such a state, these different nations or ethnic groups may have their own unique cultural, linguistic, or historical characteristics. States are either federalist, which is to be composed of multiple levels of government(United States), or unitary, which is to be composed into one single centralized government. Sovereignty is the exercise of state power over people & territory that is recognized by other states and codified by international law. Government is the body or group of persons who run the administration of a country. Governance is the norms, rules, & laws that are invoked to regulate a people or a state (public & private, from states to NGOs) .Citizenship is defined as a category of belonging to a state that includes civil, political, & social rights and responsibilities. Statelessness is when a person who is not considered a national by any state under the operation of its laws (Kurds or Palestinians or Roma).
