Basic process of the Musculoskeletal system and Nervous System Regarding a football field when the player kicks the goal, the process would start with the nervous system which would send a signal to the musculoskeletal system. The send tells your leg which is the (femur, tibia and fibula) and your knee which is the patella, then to your ankle and foot which includes your phalanges, metatarsals, and tarsal bones to move place your foot to the ground (WGU, 2022). This allows you to use the bicep femoris along with rectus femoris of one leg as the agonist. After you have placed your foot on the ground your dominate leg will swinging backward allowing you to kick the ball. This action uses the iliopsoas of the hip joint which causes your leg to rotate activating the gluteus maximums to use as a stabilizer. Your knee will bend which flexes your biceps femoris (hamstring area) which extends the rectus femoris and vastus medialis (quad group). Your ankle then flexes which allows you to keep your foot straight so that your tibialis, gastrocnemius could work accordingly. Regarding a football field when the player is kicking a field goal, it begins with your CNS and the PNS. Which will send a bunch of signals to the musculoskeletal system. It will first begin at your frontal lobe which is located at the front of the brain. This will send a synapse to “kick’ down through the central nervous system and nervous system of your ankle, foot, knee, leg and hip (WGU, 2022). The signal then would travel through the somatic system to your neuromuscular junction. At this point the command would than carry to your leg and foot telling you kick.
