Gaining Perspective Assignment
Personal Trainer- Lindsey I am interested in interviewing this potential interviewee because her background includes a wide range of clients from 12-60yr old clients whom experienced injury’s and are trying to incorporate more functional movements into their routine to counteract past
injuries and build a strong foundation. She was a collegiate athlete and a personal trainer doing countless different trainings that ranged from yoga, cross-fit, strength training, and women’s postpartum recovery. Needless to say, she would make a great interviewee because she has a strong background in human movement and recovery. Chiropractor- Nicole I am interested in interviewing this potential interviewee because she gives a different approach to musculoskeletal alignment and injury/pain management. Although this potential interviewee is fairly new to her practice, she has worked aside very knowledgeable and experienced chiropractors. With that given, I believe she would make a good candidate to interview because those around her can give more in-site on their practice and she could give me a better idea of how chiropractors work. Physical Therapist Assistant/ Occupational Therapist- Aaron I am interested in this potential interviewee because I’ve experienced working with him and I love his approach to recovery. He owns his own practice and is very knowledgeable in helping people who have physical, sensory, and cognitive problems. He has been in practice for well over 7 years and has built a strong program for his patients. His patients range anywhere from 1-95 yrs old, so as one would expect, he has great experience in many areas. Lindsey- Topics/Concepts related to Motor Development:
1. Functional movement patterns and their role in overall motor performance.
2. Strength training techniques for improving motor skills and coordination.
3. Plyometric exercises and their impact on explosive motor movements.
4. Agility drills and their relevance to enhancing motor agility and responsiveness.
5. Core stability exercises and their influence on overall motor control.
6. Balance training strategies for optimizing proprioception and motor coordination.
7. Flexibility and mobility exercises for promoting fluidity in motor movements.
8. Neuromuscular activation techniques for enhancing motor recruitment patterns.
9. Endurance training protocols and their effects on sustained motor performance.
10. Periodization strategies for systematically progressing motor development goals.
2. Open-ended Questions:
1. How do you incorporate functional movement patterns into your training programs, and what are the benefits of focusing on functional movements?
2. Can you discuss specific strength training exercises that target motor skill improvement, and how do you ensure proper form to maximize effectiveness?
3. What are plyometric exercises, and how do they contribute to developing explosive motor movements? Can you provide examples of plyometric drills you commonly use?
4. How do agility drills improve motor agility and responsiveness, and how do you tailor these drills to individual fitness levels and goals?
5. What core stability exercises do you find most effective for enhancing overall motor control, and how do you progress these exercises over time?
6. Can you explain the importance of balance training in promoting proprioception and
motor coordination, and what balance exercises do you incorporate into your training sessions?
7. How do flexibility and mobility exercises contribute to fluidity in motor movements, and what stretching techniques do you recommend for improving flexibility?
8. What are neuromuscular activation techniques, and how do you use them to enhance motor recruitment patterns in your clients?
9. How does endurance training impact sustained motor performance, and what endurance protocols do you implement to improve motor stamina?
10. Can you explain the concept of periodization in motor development training, and how do you design periodized programs to systematically progress clients towards their motor development goals?
