PAC RESEARCH: SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMITTEE
Substance abuse is an ongoing national problem that continues to grow in numbers. I found a PAC group that helps individuals with addictions, and there is help around the clock for people suffering from the disease of addiction. I agree that there should be help for everyone who is facing hardships in their lives. Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) values provider input and sees it as critical to the success of Los Angeles County's transformation to a modern managed care model, inclusive of the full continuum of prevention, harm reduction, and treatment services. SAPC convened the Provider Advisory Committee (PAC) to promote effective and patient-centered prevention and treatment services. Communities help the funding for the PAC. For example, Child and Family Center
was presented with the Community Impact Award and was recognized for identifying innovative ways to help clients connect to resources and paths towards healing. The SAPC has been successful in helping individuals in society that are homeless and struggling with substance abuse, and domestic violence. SAPC has made a positive impact on the ongoing drug war by offering treatment services.
Abortion Policy/Pro-Abortion Rights PACs
I am conflicted about Pro-Abortion rights because there are ways to prevent pregnancy. I very much agree that the world is overpopulated, but I do not agree that abortion is the correct way to prevent overpopulation. I strongly believe that woman should have their rights, and I stand firm on that, but women should also take responsibility and be accountable for their actions. I know some situations are unfortunate, for example, teenage pregnancy. PAC Contribution Data shows that Democrats support abortion laws. Contributions to this PAC from individual donors were
$978,376 from 2021-2022, and 100% of them were Democrats. The Indiana State Senate Enrolled Act No. 1 was passed in August 2022, and Indiana’s near-total abortion ban was officially implemented throughout the state, which was a success. The abortion ban prohibited all
abortions in the state, except for three exceptions: When reasonable medical judgment dictates that performing the abortion is necessary to prevent death or a serious risk of substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function, or the “health or life exception,” when the pregnant person receives a diagnosis of a lethal fetal anomaly, or when the pregnant person is a victim of rape or incest.
