Sit Down Family Meal #1 Make a meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) and sit down as a family (or with friends or roommates or spouse) and intentionally eat/enjoy the meal. You MUST have at least ONE person eat the meal with you. After the meal, answer the following questions: 1. What dishes did you make for your meal? (1 point) I made Chipotle-style burrito bowls, with rice, steak, beans, corn, pico de gallo, lettuce, and sour cream. 2. Why did you decide to make these dishes? (1 point) I decided to make this dish because I knew it was a dish that both my husband and I enjoy, and it also fits with our goals that we have made to eat healthier and more filling meals. 3. Who sat where at the table? (1 point) We currently only have a coffee table in our apartment, but I sat on the left side of the table and Dylan sat to my right. 4. Why do you think your family members (or guests) sat where they did? (1 point) I think that Dylan sat to my right because I came to the table first and took the further seat, (the left), and he came and filled in the empty spot on the couch to my right. 5. How long were you at the table, eating the meal? (1 point) We sat at the table for around 20 minutes. 6. What did you talk about during your meal? (1 point) We talked about our plans for the weekend, and what we wanted to do during the first week of school. 7. What would you do to improve upon the food you served? (1 point) The feedback that I received from my husband was to dice the onions in the pico de gallo a little smaller to not have an overwhelming flavor, so that is one thing that I can do to improve the food! 8. What would you do to improve upon the conversation and interactions during the meal? (1 point) I think that I could ask more questions during the meal, as well as notice the timing. For example, I found that I eat quicker than my husband, so he held the majority of
the conversation during the beginning of the meal, and when I had finished I took a little more control of the conversation towards the end while he was still eating. 9. Include names and photos of the people who ate with you WITH THE FOOD. (3 points) I ate this meal with my husband, Dylan. 10. Document the meal creation through photos. You must be in the photos from start to finish. Include photos of the cooking process and the presentation of the final product . (Minimum of 4 photos) (4 points)
