INTRODUCTION
This essay examines the example of Jason Geraint, who ended up in a major
automobile crash and was brought to the John Hunter Hospital ICU for
emergency medical attention. This writing aims to identify the key stakeholders
involved in Jason's care over the time span between his hospitalization and
discharge. Furthermore, it will investigate significant peak bodies that might be
able to help Jason with his ongoing health problems after taking discharge, with
a focus on community support services, acquired brain damage, right arm
amputation, and depression. Moreover, the essay will cover the amenities
offered to Jason and his family in a best-practice scenario, along with the way
these organizations should ideally communicate and interact. Additionally, the
details of assistance Jason and his family get during the three months before
returning to their Torrington residence will be thoroughly evaluated.
BODY
(A)
The stakeholders who are primarily involved in Jason's care are the
medical team composed of doctors, surgeons, and medical specialists
who oversee Jason's medical care. They are responsible for his
diagnosis and treatment plan, which includes addressing his head
injury, fractures, and internal injuries. Moreover, nurses offer
consistent care, give medication, monitor vital signs, and guarantee
the safety and welfare of patients while they are in the ICU. In
addition, physiotherapists are helping Jason with his physical therapy
to regain strength and mobility after his injuries. Speech therapists are
also available to restore his verbal communication skills and overcome
any language and speech difficulties along with Clinical Psychologist
who evaluates Jason's mental disability resulting from his brain injury
while offering counselling assistance. Additionally, an occupational
therapist analysed Jason's injuries and determined the recovery
requirements, with a particular emphasis on adapting his lifestyle after
his right arm amputation. The pharmacists oversee Jason's
prescriptions, monitor any adverse reactions to medications, and
collaborate with the medical team to adjust his medication as
necessary. Another important stakeholder is the dietician, who will
create a diet plan to aid Jason's recovery and enhance his well-being
during his hospital stay. Along with Social workers who offer
emotional support and help with practical arrangements and connect
families with resources such as EnableNSW's IPTAS, which provides
travel assistance.
