2 3-2 Project Preparation: Quick Check Selection of healthcare organization The healthcare organization I have chosen for my final project is Lexington Medical Center in Lexington. The medical center serves several cities and counties in Midland, South Carolina. Lexington Medical Center is owned by Lexington County Health Service District, Inc., and is a private hospital. The hospital provides primary care, women’s services, a cancer center, a heart and vascular center, and orthopedics. It also provides long-term care, such as Alzheimer’s Care, physical therapy, and Pulmonary Care. (Lexington Medical Center, 2024) Selection of public-facing data Public-facing data is essential for understanding and analyzing various aspects of a community or institution. For my course project, I plan to utilize public-facing data from Lexington Medical Center, which serves a diverse population and provides various healthcare services. It allows us to make informed decisions, evaluate healthcare outcomes, and facilitate data-driven decision-making. This data set contains demographics, patient statistics, and healthcare services. The data is regularly updated and is publicly available for anyone to access and analyze. (Lexington Medical Center, 2024) Discuss your selections I recently had a total knee replacement, and I chose this hospital because of its expertise in providing pre- and post-op care and continuous education. By leveraging the available data, I aim to contribute to the healthcare field by generating valuable insights and recommendations to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall quality of care delivered during total knee replacement procedures.
